Back in the Day - View From a Hill
This candid was taken in 1972 with Kodak Tri-X in the F2 through the 300 mm.
This shows how the subject can be isolated from the back/foreground by using focus and contrast. Everyone (well, almost everyone) under the age of 25 was wearing a dark blue "navy" coat in those days, so not much was required in the darkroom for emphasis. This image is a cropped scan of the 8 by 10 on Kodabromide number 4 (very high contrast) photo paper. Isolated focus was easy, as the couple was nearly 100 yards away and I took the shot with the 300 mm "wide-open" at f4.5.

That's an awesome pic Mike, cool. I just purchased a Nikon D70s and have to invest in a "decent" lens now...
