Savannah Scenes - Lucas Theater

Last evening (7/29/06) I went to a screening of To Catch a Thief at the Lucas Theater. I had a few minutes before the show, so a snagged a few shots of the interior of the venue.
The stage, from the upper balcony.

Savannah Scenes - Odd and Ends

What wrong with this picture? If you're first with the correct answer, I'll buy you a beverage at Six Pence.

Savannah Scenes - Ghost Signs 2

MLK at Oglethorpe MLK at Broughton
Montgomery at Congress
Bull at State Street

I wish I knew someone at the CSI lab. With just a few mouse clicks, they'd restore the image erased by years of weather erosion. Ah, the magic of television...

If you're a Photoshop (tm) wizard and you think you can bring out the detail in these shots, send a message with your mailing address to "mike777 (gnat) myself dot c0m" and I'll post a CD of these files, just as they came out of my A620. Posted by Picasa

Music at The Sentient Bean - The Young Republic

(These photos looked much better before blogspot applied their really aggressive compression.)

The Young Republic played at The Sentient Bean on June 17. The band has a unique sound and a lot of energy; I really enjoyed the performance.

My advice?

Ignore that corporate coffee biz on Broughton and stroll down Bull Street until you reach The Sentient Bean on the south end of Forsyth Park.
